Care Taker Scalp Relief Treatment Mask is a pre-shampoo treatment helps to relieve sensitive, itchy and flaky scalps. A comforting blend of Oatmeal extract and Bisabolol work to calm and soothe. Oat Sativa high in Avenathramides has a long history of use and is rich in highly hydrophillic (super water loving) polysaccharides to hydrate and soothe sensitive skin (1), additionally Bisabolol helps in reducing redness, irritation, and discomfort, making it ideal for sensitive scalps. This formula is aimed to enhance the scalps natural moisturizing factor (NMF) which is essential for appropriate stratum corneum hydration, barrier homeostasis, desquamation, and plasticity (2). Ginger root extract helps to fight redness caused by irritation and with antioxidant coffee extracts to stimulate the scalp and Piroctone Olamine to help combat dry flaky skin.Sensitive scalps can result from a variety of factors, including environmental, lifestyle, and health-related causes. Frequent exposure to harsh chemicals found in hair care products like shampoos, dyes, and styling gels can strip the scalp of its natural oils, leading to irritation and sensitivity. Environmental factors such as pollution, extreme weather conditions, and UV radiation can also contribute to a sensitive scalp. Additionally, stress, poor diet and certain skin conditions may exacerbate scalp sensitivity, as they can affect overall skin health. Lastly, improper hair care routines, such as over-washing or aggressive brushing, can further damage the scalp, making it more prone to sensitivity.1. Kurtz ES, Wallo W.
